Minor rape case: Police awaiting blood sample report

Police,in a bid to build a strong case against the accused is awaiting the report which was send last week by it to the FSL Madhuban

The Panchkula Police on Monday said that they had last week sent blood samples of a two-and-a-half-year-old girl to Forensic Science Laboratory,Madhuban,to match them with the blood stains on her father’s clothes and they are still awaiting the report. It was revealed during investigation that the blood on the clothes was due to rape committed by the father on his child. The girl was killed by the accused,Ekram Ahmed,after being gagged with the clothes she was wearing and her body was recovered outside a government building in Sector 5 last week.

Police,in a bid to build a strong case against the accused is awaiting the report which was send last week by it to the FSL Madhuban. The accused,who is at present in judicial custody,confessed to the crime before the police. He said that he killed the girl,his stepdaughter,as his second wife used to misbehave with his two children from his first wife. He had married his second wife Phool one and half months back.

Even as the post-mortem report confirmed rape,police,however said that in order to build a strong case against the accused they are relying on the blood sample report.

Police said that an eye-witness had seen Ahmed drop the body of the girl at Sector 5 but they are relying on the blood sample report more as they feel that in such cases witness turns hostile. Police said that during questionning the wife of the accused revealed asked her husband about the blood stains,he had said that was due to a assault. Police also interrogated the barber at Rajpora in Punjab,who revealed that Ekram had come with his daughter and nephew. He claimed that his nephew had a role in the murder.
