MC honours 18 employees

Mayor Poonam Sharma unfurled the national flag in presence of MC Commissioner, Bhawna Garg, and other senior officials.

As many as 18 officials of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation (MC) were honoured at a programme held at the Fire Station in Sector 17 Saturday. Mayor Poonam Sharma unfurled the national flag in presence of MC Commissioner, Bhawna Garg, and other senior officials.

Those who were awarded included Jaswinder, Mangal, Oma, Harkesh, Nirmal Singh, Tirlochan Singh, Rajinder Pal Singh, Dalbir Singh, Kirandeep, Ajaib Singh, Rikhi Ram, Shikha, Dalbara Singh, Balwant Singh, Thakar Singh, Rajinder Parsad, Pooja Kainth and Sachin Sharma.

Poonam Sharma, while addressing the gathering, said the community centres in sectors 15, 18, 19 and 40 would be extended, street lights would be provided in sectors 46 and 47, and solar street lights would be installed in the neighbourhood parks of Manimajra, NAC and Mauli Jagran.

Water supply for two hours in Phase II, Industrial Area; multi-level parking in sectors 17 and 34, community parking in Sector 44; and extension of the Municipal Corporation building were some of the other projects mentioned by the Mayor.
