Karan’s spin hands Patiala outright win

Led by superlative bowling performance from spinner Karan Kaila (8 for 50) in the second innings,Patiala recorded a facile 10-wicket win over Mohali in a match played during the ongoing Punjab Inter-District cricket tournament played for Dhruv Pandove Trophy in Patiala. Mohali were bowled out for 153 runs in 57.2 overs after being bundled out for 131 runs in the first innings in reply to Patiala’s first innings total of 261 runs. With this win,Patiala collected seven points. Mohali started their second innings from the overnight score 35 for 3 in 16 overs. They gave a target of 23 runs to Patiala for the win. In control of the match,Patiala chased the target within no time. For Mohali,Sahil (41) and Shine Sharma (32 no) were the main scorers in the second innings. Patiala spinner Karan Kaila was in his element and bowled exceptionally well to put Mohali batsmen under pressure. He ran through the Mohali batting line up and put Patiala in commanding position. Apart from Karan,Sukhwinder Singh also bowled well and grabbed two wickets. Karan had taken six wickets in the first innings also. Patiala did not lose even a single wicket and chased down the target with bease.

Amritsar need 287 runs to win

AMRITSAR require 287 runs with eight wickets in hand to record a win on the last day of the match against Chandigarh. In a match being played at the Gandhi Grounds,Chandigarh declared their second innings at 204 for 9 in 67 overs and gave a target of 351 runs to Amritsar. Shivam Bhambri (57) and Talwinder Singh (51 no) were the main scorers for Chandigarh. For Amritsar,Karan Sharma (3 for 42) and Surinder Kumar (3 for 44) were the main wicket takers. Amritsar were at 64 for 2 in 30 overs at close of third day’s play. Karan Sharma (31 no) and Navneet Singh (30 no) were on the crease for Amritsar.
