A five-wicket haul by Akshay Kansal (5 for 87) guided Mohali to an easy eight-wicket win over Jalandhar on the concluding day of their match of the Dhriv Pandove Trophy played at PCA Stadium,Mohali. After restricting Jalandhar to a second innings’ total of 356,Mohali reached the target for the loss of two wickets to claim an outright win.

Resuming from their overnight score of 292 for 6,Jalandhar batsmen added 64 more runs to their second innings’ total. Sahil Lal remained unbeaten on 86 runs off 283 balls as the team posted a total of 356 runs. Lal smashed 12 boundaries during his stay at the crease. For Mohali,Akshay Kanwal was the star of the day,claiming five wickets for 87 runs.

Chasing an easy target,Mohali scored 82 runs for the loss of two wickets in their second innings to register an outright win.

Ludhiana register massive win

Valiant centuries by Amritsar batsmen Navneet (108) and Abhinav Sharma (102) went in vain as Ludhiana registered a six-wicket win over Amritsar on the last day of another match in the Dhruve Pandove Stadium played at Amritsar.

Resuming from their overnight score of 91 for 2,Amritsar could only manage 297 runs in 111.5 overs in their second innings. Abhinav Sharma and Navneet Singh were associated in a 196-run partnership for the third wicket but once their partnership was broken the rest of the Amritsar batsmen threw away their wickets cheaply. Navneet Singh played a superb knock of 108 runs off 201 balls and smashed 11 boundaries during his stay at the crease. Abhinav Sharma hammered 101 off 207 balls with the help of eight boundaries during his stay at the crease. For Ludhiana,Sandeep claimed four wickets for 60 runs while Navendhu grabbed three wickets for 65 runs.

In reply,Ludhiana reached the target for the loss of four wickets in 8.5 overs. Chirag Maria remained unbeaten on 14 runs. For Amritsar,Rohit claimed two wickets for 30 runs.

Chandigarh garner 3 points

In the third match played at Dhruve Pandove Stadium,Patiala,the Chandigarh team got three points on the basis of the first innings lead while Patiala bagged one point. Chandigarh posted a total of 241 in their second innings before the play was called off. Vineet Dhaka was the top scorer for the Chandigarh team with a fine knock of 74 runs. Arpit Pannu contributed 64 runs. For Patiala,Manpreet Singh claimed two wickets for four runs while Ashutosh grabbed two wickets for 41 runs.
