A day after a 15-year-old girl was found murdered in her house, the post mortem report revealed that she was raped before being strangulated.

The girl, who was a student of a government school in Parwanoo, was alone in her house on Friday. Her parents worked in a factory in Parwanoo, and had left for work in the morning. The family hails from Madhya Pradesh (MP).

Her father told police that she was supposed to appear for her examination at 2 pm, which she did not attend.

The incident had come to light at around 4 pm on Friday. Her parents informed police that their daughter was found dead in the house.

According to police, one of the neighbours first saw the body. The girl was semi-naked when her parents found her.

According to the post mortem report, she was raped before being murdered, and her viscera samples have been taken for further examination.

“There are marks on her neck, which indicate that she was strangulated to death. Apart from that, there are certain injury marks on her body, which could be signs of struggle,” said one of the forensic experts.

Following the complaint of her parents, the police had registered a case of murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Kalka Police Station. No arrests have been made in the case yet.
