Kabir bags u-14 tennis title

Kabir Manrai,a budding tennis talent of the city who trains at Chandigarh Club Tennis Academy,won the boy's Under-14 singles title in the AITA Talent Series held at Amritsar from April 1 to 5.

CHANDIGARH: Kabir Manrai,a budding tennis talent of the city who trains at Chandigarh Club Tennis Academy (CCTA),won the boy’s Under-14 singles title in the AITA Talent Series held at Amritsar from April 1 to 5. Playing in the final,Kabir prevailed over Sabrang Sandal,a trainee of CLTA,7-5,3-6,6-3,to claim the title. Meanwhile,another trainee of CCTA,Tanya Batra was also on the course for girl’s Under-14 singles title. She entered the semi-finals.

Punjab eves claim Epee team fencing title

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab women fencing team claimed the Epee team title in the 4th Fencing Federation Cup held in Hyderabad. The Punjab team comprised of Shammipreet Kaur,Baby Verma,Jasseerat Singh and Preetinder Kaur. Meanwhile,SSCB claimed the overall men championship title with 31 points,followed by Manipur at second with 22 points. The women all overall championship title was bagged by Kerala with 33 points. .

CLTA trainees play Tennis 10s tournament

CHANDIGARH: THE trainees of Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association had their first brush with Tennis 10s tournament- recently been intoduced in India by All India Tennis Association (AITA). in which the players used proper tennis balls designed by International Tennis Federation for the event.

Basketball trials tomorrow

CHANDIGARH: Chandigarh Basketball Association will conduct trials on April 7 at 5:30 pm in New Public School,Sector 18,Chandigarh,for the selection of the Chandigarh men team in the first 3X3 National Basketball Championship to be held in New Delhi on April 10 and 11. In this format,three players will play against three from opposition team on half court and Number 6 ball will be used.
