Jaishvin claims U-12 title

Playing superbly,Jaishvin Singh of Delhi Public School,Ludhiana claimed the title in the boys' U-12 category with a 6-4,6-3 win over Neel Singh in the penultimate day of the Paragon Total Tennis Championship on Saturday.

Mohali: Playing superbly,Jaishvin Singh of Delhi Public School,Ludhiana claimed the title in the boys’ U-12 category with a 6-4,6-3 win over Neel Singh in the penultimate day of the Paragon Total Tennis Championship on Saturday. The Ludhiana youngster claimed the first set 6-4 before claiming the second and final set 6-3 to claim the title.

In the boys U-14 semi-finals,Nikhil Sandhu scored a 6-3,6-1 win over Sahil Yadav to advance into the finals. Sandhu claimed the first set with a 6-3 margin before winning the second and final set with a 6-1 margin to advance into the finals.

In the men’s first round,Abhishek scored a narrow 9-8 (7-4) win over Jaideep to advance into the second round while Sunny scored a 8-2 win over Amitoze Singh to advance further.

Team Constellation stays in lead

Chandigarh: Team Constellation,captained by Nikita Kamal stayed in the lead on the second day of the Chandigarh Open Bridge Championship being organised by Chandigarh Bridge Association on Saturday. At the end of the eleventh round,eight teams qualified for the super league with Team Constellation leading with 206 points. Engineers team,led by Ajay Kadian,was lying second with 206 points while Explorers team led by DK Tiwari was lying at the third spot with 204 points.
