Jain nominated as BJP national executive member

Former BJP MP Satya Pal Jain was nominated as a Member of the National Executive Committee of the Bharatiya Janta Party for the fifth consecutive term.

Former BJP MP Satya Pal Jain was nominated as a Member of the National Executive Committee of the Bharatiya Janta Party for the fifth consecutive term. In fact Jain is the only BJP member from the city to have been nominated five times. The list was released Sunday by party president Rajnath Singh in Delhi today.

Jain has been the incharge of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh units of the BJP. He has also been the Incharge of the Legal Cell of the BJP for 6 years. Jain was elected to Lok Sabha from Chandigarh in 1996 and 1998. He has won the election to PU Senate from the Graduate,Constituency in 1976,1980,1984 and 1988. He was nominated as a member of the Senate in 1996,2000,2004,2008 and in 2012.

A constitutional lawyer,Jain has been associated with the RSS and ABVP,right from his college days. He has represented the party in various High Courts and Supreme Court in several politically important cases.
