The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday directed the UT administration to install two water coolers in Sukhna lake premises and make arrangements for additional washrooms near the place. During the resumed hearing of the case on Sukhna lake, a division bench of the High Court asked the administration to explore the possibility of wet dredging of the lake based on the cleaning process of Sabarmati river in Gujarat. The HC observed the officials should procure the machinery for regular cleaning of the lake instead of just relying on the manual process of dredging.

The counsels representing the administration told the bench that various options are being explored to contain the problem of weed growth on the lake. The Chandigarh administration has been asked to submit a response on the next date of hearing in the case.
