A large number of people from all walks of life gathered on Sunday to pay tributes to deceased Inspector Sucha Singh. The bhog was held at the Sector 19 gurdwara. Sucha Singh had died on June 7 after being repeatedly stabbed by a suspended constable of the Chandigarh Police.

Speaking on the occasion, local MP Pawan Kumar Bansal said that if there is a need for the law to change,in order to let Parminder,Sucha Singh’s son, join as an ASI,the needful should be done. “I request the authorities to help the family whenever they are in need. I believe that a Police memorial should be made where Sucha Singh’s name should be mentioned so as to honour his martyrdom,” he said.

Mayor Subhash Chawla said that he had never come across such a soft-spoken officer. He added that the huge gathering of his loved ones on the occasion of his last rights has already proven the fact.

“His hands did not shake when he tried to stop the criminals,I request the authorities to do the needful while punishing the couple and thus make sure that Sucha Singh and his family get justice,” said former MP and senior BJP leader Satya Pal Jain.

Mohali MLA Balbir Singh Sidhu,UT Adviser K K Sharma,DIG Alok Kumar and SSP RS Ghuman were among those who paid tribute to Sucha Singh. His school teacher was also present. “Sucha Singh was always of the view that one never gets tired of his work, his will of not working makes him feel tired of his job,” said SS Prince.
