Haryana Warriors and Haryana Youths entered the final of the 2nd Rajiv Gandhi Haryana Rural Premier League cricket championship,at HUDA Sports Complex,Sector 3,on Saturday.
In the first semifinal,Haryana Youths beat Haryana Fighters by 13 runs. Haryana Youths batted first and posted 155 for 8 in 25 overs. Yogesh top-scored with 50 runs while Sahil (31) and Mohit Arohi (23) chipped in with useful runs. Nittu Chopra bagged three wickets.
In reply,Haryana Fighters were all out for 142 in 24.4 overs. Nittu once again shone for the team with a superb knock of 45 runs. Gulam contributed 32 runs. Karan Punj bowled superbly to pick up five wickets for 14 runs.
In another semi-final encounter,Haryana Warriors thrashed Haryana Tigers by 117 runs. Batting first,Haryana Warriors posted a huge total of 208 for 4 in 25 overs. Rahul Chopra batted well but he fell short of a well-deserved century by two runs. Animesh Goyal contributed 70 runs while Amit Chaudhary remained unbeaten on 46 runs. Jaish grabbed three wickets.
Chasing the target,Haryana Tigers were bundled out for 91 runs. Ankit Laller top-scored with 35 runs. Amit Chaudhary (3 for 14) and Aman Kumar (3 for 30) shared six wickets between them.
Meanwhile,in the volleyball event,HSIDC,Panchkula,Haryana Police,Karnal Coaching Centre and Chandigarh Coaching Centre entered the semifinals. In the league matches,Panchkula Karnal CC beat Panipat 25-14,25-18 (2-0),Chjandigarh CC got the better of Sirsa 25-14,25-19 (2-0) and Haryana Police defeated Karnal 25-12,16-25,25-20,25-19 (3-1).
