The Haryana police have announced to probe the authenticity of threat letters sent to a section of journalists covering the Dera Sacha Sauda episode. “We will look into the matter,” Haryana DGP B S Sandhu said on Wednesday.

In the letters sent to a section of mediapersons, the “Kurbani Dal” has threatened to kill journalists, Haryana police officers and former dera followers who have spoken against Gurmeet Ram Rahim. The writer of the letter has also mentioned names of some TV channels while alleging that their “guru” had been defamed.

The writer also said that the BJP government and Captain government (in Punjab) “cheated the bhaghats”, while adding that “200 children” of the dera chief were ready to commit suicide.
