Haryana: Consumer forum to visit ten districts to address grievances

Various types of grievances of consumers including billing problem, voltage complaints, interruptions, failure of power supply, will be addressed.

Members of the Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum (CGRF) of Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam would make extensive visits to 10 districts in November for hearing grievances of the consumers and entertain new complaints.

“The proceedings of the CGRF will be held at the circle office in Yamuna Nagar on November 7, Karnal on November 10, Ambala on November 11, Sonepat on November 16, Panipat on November 21, Rohtak on November 22, Panchkula on November 23, Jhajjar on November 28, Kurukshetra on November 29 and Kaithal on November 30,” said the department spokesperson.

Various types of grievances of consumers including billing problem, voltage complaints, problems in metering, disconnection and reconnection of power supply, interruptions, failure of power supply, efficiency, safety, reliability, non-compliance of Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission orders will be addressed.

However, the cases of theft and unauthorised use of electricity, offenses and penalties as specified under Section 126 and Section 135 to 139 of the Electricity Act, accidents and inquiries as under Section 161 of the act will not be considered by the forum.
