The Punjab and Haryana High Court Friday issued notices to Chandigarh Administration on a petition filed by a woman alleging she is receiving threats from an accused.

The woman has alleged that two Chandigarh Police officers are hand in glove with the accused. The woman has also named the SHO of the concerned police station and the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).

The woman alleged she was being constantly harassed by a local, against whom she had filed a case of extortion and criminal intimidation.

The woman had earlier moved a local court demanding cancellation of bail of the accused, which was denied.

Aggrieved, she moved the High Court demanding cancellation of his bail.

The woman,a physiotherapist, has alleged that after she got a case registered against the local, who is reportedly associated with political parties, her property has been damaged by the accused.

To demonstrate that the accused and the DSP are “close”,the woman through her counsel H C Arora produced a news report stating that the accused had sent an SMS to the DSP offering that he (accused) will “pay expenses” for the DSP’s hair treatment.
