Handball trials on September 20

Chandigarh Handball Association is going to conduct trials to select Sub Junior Boys team and Girls team (Mini) that will participate in the 29th Sub Junior Boys and Mini Girls National Handball Championship to be held at Srinagar from October 6 to October 11.

Chandigarh:Chandigarh Handball Association is going to conduct trials to select Sub Junior Boys team and Girls team (Mini) that will participate in the 29th Sub Junior Boys and Mini Girls National Handball Championship to be held at Srinagar from October 6 to October 11. Players born on or after 02.01.1997(for sub junior boys) and (for mini girls 02-01-2000) are eligible to participate. Interested players may report to Ravinder Singh,General Secretary,Chandigarh Handball Association,at the handball ground in DAV Senior Secondary School,Sector 8,on September 20 at 4.00 pm.

SGGS College claim kabaddi title

Chandigarh:SGGS College,Sector 26 claimed the title in the Panjab University Inter-College Kabaddi (NS) (Men) A-Division Tournament for the session 2012.13. RSD College,Ferozepur claimed the second spot while the third spot was claimed by Government College,Muktsar. PG Government College,Sector 46 claimed the fourth spot. In the final,SGGS College,Chandigarh scored a 46-18 win over RSD College,Ferozepur. In the Panjab University Inter-College Kabaddi (NS) (Men) B-Division Championship,Khalsa College,Ghardiwala claimed the title while PU Constituent College,Nihalsinghwala grabbed the second spot. MGKMSS College of Physical Education,Jhakroudi claimed the third spot while the fourth spot went to Sri Ram College,Dalla.

Football trials on the anvil

Chandigarh:The Chandigarh Football Association will conduct field trials to select 25 probables for forthcoming Administrators Cup All India Football Tournament for U-17 boys,organised by Sports Department,Chandigarh Administration. The trials will be held on September 20 at DAV Senior Secondary School,Sector 8,at 4.30 pm. The boys born on or after 1st January,1996 are eligibleto participate in this All India Tournament. The interested players should bring age proof certificates during the trials. The selected boys will attend coaching camp at DAV Senior Secondary School,Sector 8,Chandigarh,under the supervision of Narinder Thapa,Senior SAI football coach.

Shooting C’ship from Sept 22

Chandigarh:Chandigarh Rifle Association will conduct 13th Chandigarh Inter-School Shooting Championship on September 22 and 23 at St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School,Sector 44. The competition will be held in Air Rifle and Air Pistol event in the boys and girls categories in junior (below 19 years) and sub-junior (below 15 years). Only bonafide students of the Chandigarh schools are eligible to take part in the championship. The participants who obtain qualifying score will be eligible to represent Chandigarh in the XVI All Indian Kumar Surendra Singh Inter-School Shooting Championships to be held in Hyderabad from October 16. The entries will be accepted at the venue till 10.00 am on September 22 through the principals of the respective schools.

Cricket meet from October 1

Chandigarh:The 2nd All India Under-19 Invitation Tournament for Dhruv Pandove Trophy will be held at Chandigarh,Mohali and Patiala from October 1 to 13. A total of eight teams have confirmed their participation in the tournament. The participating teams are Punjab,Vidarbha,Odisha,Bengal,Mumbai,Hyderabad,Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.
