GSHM-16: Victim’s father demands independent probe into negligence

Father of the 21-year-old girl,who accused Government Multi Speciality Hospital,(GMSH) Sector 16 of medical negligence has asked for an independent probe into the case.

Father of the 21-year-old girl,who accused Government Multi Speciality Hospital,(GMSH) Sector 16 of medical negligence has asked for an independent probe into the case.

A day after the medical superintendent,Dr Rajiv Vadera initiated an inquiry into the case,the father of the girl went to the hospital and filed a written complaint with the MS,asking for an independent probe. He demanded strict action against the doctor.

While talking to Newsline,he said,“I have filed a written complaint asking for an independent inquiry into the case. I want doctors from other hospital to inquire the case,as I do not trust doctors of this hospital anymore.”

Dt Rajiv Vadera said that he has already marked an inquiry on the basis of media report. “The father of the girl came here,but I had already marked an inquiry to the head of surgery department,Dr KS Bal. And a report will be submitted in next 10 days.”

When asked,if the father has asked for an independent inquiry,Dr Vadera said,“The father came to me with a complaint and I told him that the hospital has already marked an inquiry. He did not show any resentment.”
