Good start for DAV College athletes on Day One

It was a good day for DAV College,Sector 10 athletes as Ashish Lohan,Sukhdev Singh and Parvinder Kumar emerged as the winners in the men's 100 M race,5000 M race and Javelin Throw

It was a good day for DAV College,Sector 10 athletes as Ashish Lohan,Sukhdev Singh and Parvinder Kumar emerged as the winners in the men’s 100 M race,5000 M race and Javelin Throw respectively on the first day of the Chandigarh State Athletics Championship which started at Sector 7 Sports Complex . Lohan of DAV College,Sector 10 emerged as the fastest runner of the meet when he clocked a time of 11.01 seconds in the 100 M race. Amandeep of DAV College,Sector 10 claimed the second spot with a time of 11.62 seconds while Prakash Verma of PG Government College,Sector 10 grabbed the third spot with a time of 11.65 seconds.

In the men’s 5000 M race,Sukhdev Singh of DAV College,Sector 10 emerged as the winner with a time of 16 minutes and 17.77 seconds. Ramesh of Chandigarh Police 9 IRB grabbed the second spot with a time of 16 minutes and 20.12 seconds. The third spot went to Vishal Singh of DAV College,Sector 10 with a time of 16 minutes and 20.68 seconds.

In the men’s shot put event,Paramjit Singh of DAV College,Sector 10 claimed the gold medal with a throw of 13.66 M while Gagandeep Singh of DAV College,Sector 10 grabbed the silver medal with a time of 12.75 M. The third spot was claimed by Sachin Sharma of BSC,Sector 39 with a throw of 11.32 M.

In the men’s discus throw event,Prashant Malik of DAV College,Sector 10 emerged as the winner with a throw of 47.55 M. Gurjeet Singh of SICS,Sector 42 claimed the second spot with a throw of 36.85 M while the third spot went to Naveen Sharma of DAV College,Sector 15 with a throw of 25.56 M.

Parvinder Kumar of DAV College,Sector 10 claimed the top spot in the javelin throw event with a throw of 61.87 M while Sarabjeet Singh of DAV College,Sector 10 grabbed the second spot in the 60.20 M. Mukesh Kumar of Chandigarh Police (IRB) won the third spot with a throw of 46.40 M.
