After serving notices against illegal construction at several SCOs in Sector 20,and giving time to violators to removing the illegal constructions voluntarily, the Estate Office is set to demolish such structures from next week.

This is despite the fact that the Estate Office has called owners of several showrooms, who have erected temporary cabins on government land and rented them out to third parties,to remove the illegal constructions.

Sources in the UT Estate Office said that some showrooms owners had agreed to remove the violations on their own. But said that many violators were still adamant and were not willing to remove violations. “30 per cent of violations still remain for which we will be conducting a demolition drive next week,” said AEO Rahul Gupta.
