Four injured in Panchkula road mishap

Four people were injured after a vehicle in which they were travelling was hit by a car on the dividing road of Sector 6 and 7 on Monday evening.

Four people were injured after a vehicle in which they were travelling was hit by a car on the dividing road of Sector 6 and 7 on Monday evening.

The car,driven by a youth,Rahul Verma was being driven at a fast speed when it hit the Ford Fiesta car on the road,resulting in injuries to four people. Police have filed a challan of drunk driving against Rahul,but no case was registered into the incident.

Four of the people who were injured were identified as Navdeep Chopra,his father Ashwani Chopra,mother Sunita Chopra and brother Dileep Chopra. The injured were shifted to the Sector 6 hospital where they were treated and later discharged. Following the incident a police party rushed to the spot.

Police officials said that they challaned the boy,Rahul Verma,for driving while being drunk. Verma said that he saw a dog passing on the road and as he was trying to apply the brake,he lost control over the car due to which the mishap took place.

However the police did not register a case into the accident. Station House Officer (SHO),Sector 5 police station,Mukesh Kumar,said,“We did not register any case into the incident as both the parties reached a compromise. We have challaned the youth for drunk driving.”
