Police have arrested four people after a scuffle at the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) Employees Welfare Organisation (HEWO) housing society in Sector 6 at Mansa Devi Complex (MDC) area, where the residents allege that a flesh trade was being run from some flats.

Station House Officer (SHO) of the Mansa Devi police station,Balwant Singh, said that police had arrested four people on the complaint of a resident that he was attacked by them. He said that police have booked the accused under Sections 147,149,323 and 506 of IPC and investigations in the case have been started. The SHO said that the police received a complaint late Monday night from a man,Chand Singh, that he was assaulted by the accused and that he also received injuries in the attack on him.

He said that late on Monday night at around 8 or 9 pm,the four accused, who were drunk, attacked Chand at the HEWO housing society, following which a police party rushed to the area and carried out the arrests.

However, residents alleged that some of the flats in the society are being used to run a flesh trade as well and the scuffle was also triggered as some of the residents had complained to the police about it. However MDC SHO said that police did not find any veracity in the complaint. Residents also allege that during the scuffle,a four-wheeler was also damaged and the broken shards of glass littered one of the rooms at the housing society.

Last week on July 9 a woman had complained to the police that her husband was in the company of some girls, but later she withdrew her complaint. Police had suspected a flesh trade at the time, but during a raid it was found found that there were only girls present in one of the flats and that no male member was found.
