Four calves burnt alive in Chandigarh fire

According to information available, the fire started around 10.30 pm, when a firecracker fell on dry fodder stored in a part of the stable.

Four calves were killed while around dozen buffaloes received serious burn injuries when a fire broke out in a stable in Gupta Colony Wednesday.

Cash worth Rs 21,000 and some other items were also gutted.

According to information available, the fire started around 10.30 pm, when a firecracker fell on dry fodder stored in a part of the stable.

The owner of the stable, Phool Chand, who was injured in the incident, said that the calves and buffaloes were worth Rs 3 lakh.

A team of veterinary doctors led by Dr S K Gupta reached the spot to treat the injured animals.
