Five incidents of theft from cars reported in single day

A number of incidents of theft was reported on Saturday wherein unidentified miscreants stole cash,laptop and other valuables from cars.

A number of incidents of theft was reported on Saturday wherein unidentified miscreants stole cash,laptop and other valuables from cars. In the first incident,miscreants stole Rs 1.43 lakh after breaking the window panes of a Mercedez parked in Sector 9.

SHO of sector 3 police station,Inspector Neeraj Sarna said that Pavitar Singh Bajwa owner of a restaurant in Sector 9 had parked his Mercedez in the parking when the miscreants managed to break the window of the car and lift a bag containing cash,cheque book and important documents.

Sarna said that the accused took advantage of the heavy rain,broke the window pane of the car and fled. Police are scrutinising the footage of the CCTV cameras installed in the shops close to the parking to identify the accused.

In another incident a laptop was stolen after breaking the windows of another car in Sector 8.

In a third incident,Ganesh Kumar,resident of Sector 15,Panchkula,reported that his laptop was stolen from his car.

In another incident a laptop,documents and cheque book belonging to Col. Kehar Singh,resident of Sector 18-A,Chandigarh,was stolen. In the fifth incident a briefcase containing contractor license,cheque book,passbook,passport and documents were stolen from a car belonging to one Sanjay Kumar,resident of Fatehgarh Sahib,Punjab. So far no arrests have been made.
