Three boys, straight out of college, head out for one last road trip to the sunny beaches of Goa,right before they snap the umbilical cord with their folks and join the real world. Sounds familiar, right? The only catch its a journey from a pind in Punjab to the land of sun and sand. Titled Yamley Jatt Yamley, the film by Sav Pal Productions claims to be the first Punjabi film to be shot in Goa. Making his debut as a director is actor Savy Dadwal, who is confident that his film will take Punjabi cinema to the next level. Its generally perceived that Punjabi movies are no match to Hollywood or Bollywood films as far as technical quality is concerned. But this film will dispel all such notions as the entire technical staff will be from Bollywood with experts who have worked in films like Desi Boys,Thank You and Ra.One, says Dadwal, who has assisted in films like Rang De Basanti and Dabangg .
With the technical department taken care of and emphasised upon, one wonders how the main element – the script will fare, considering the plot is a three-boys-on-a-trip-having-the-time-of-their-life formula thats been tried and tested. The girls have plenty of part to play as well, says actress Jonita Doda while Dadwal adds,We have worked a lot on the script, and yes,it is not away from this league of films but it has enough to set it apart from the others. A romcom, nevertheless, the film also stars Gurpreet Ghuggi,Rana Ranbir,Guggu Gill,Sorab Rajpurohit and comedy queen Bharti Singh, and will go on floors next week. Meanwhile,Doda, who has worked in leading roles in films like Chakk Jawana and Yara O Dildara, recently made a debut in a Malayalam film titled Adhikaram and will also be seen in Aaru Padai Vela,Zebra Crossing and D Company. The actor is also set to launch a film under her home production,Cinevalley Productions later this year.
