In the run up to the Lok Sabha elections,leaders of all political parties are paying visits to officials in various departments taking up issues concerning the city residents. A wide range of issues include problems of teachers,supply of electricity and other civic problems have found echo among aspirants for the Lok Sabha tickets who have been leading one or the other delegation to the officers to discuss these.

Senior BJP leader Harmohan Dhawan along with Arvind Rana president of the Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan Teacher Welfare Association today submitted a memorandum regarding the pending demands of the teachers of the SSA. Dhawan conveyed resentment at 1300 JBT and TGT teachers being asked to deposit a month’s salary in form of FDR. He demanded that the teachers be regularised at the earliest.

The president of the city unit of BJP Sanjay Tandon met the UT Adviser on Thursday demanding that electricity supply at Colony Number 4 be not given to private contractor. It was alleged that the contractor was demanding huge amount of money.

Earlier,Satya Pal Jain,chairman legal cell of BJP had met UT SSP Naunihal Singh and submitted a memorandum urging transfer of investigation of the case of Mahavir Singh,an employee of the Panjab University who is missing,either to Crime Branch or CBI.
