‘Follow-Me’ air conditioners, an interactive range of ACs, a wide range of all-weather, energy-efficient deep freezers, refrigerators and other cooling systems to beat the heat were on display at the ongoing CII Coolex-2014 Expo at Himachal Bhawan on Sunday.
Visitors from Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana, including residents, hoteliers, industrialists and factory owners, visited the expo that will end on Monday.
Air-conditioners based on green and eco-friendly technologies were also on display. Most companies had brought in gadgets with high BEE (Bureau of Energy Efficiency) ratings and efficiency levels. These ACs are said to be capable of reducing power bills by 25-30 per cent.
Hitachi launched special ‘Follow-Me’ ACs with body sensors that provide cooling with regard to the positioning of a human body around it, while all-weather inverter ACs by Carrier and Voltas can work on as low as 1478 watts and help save 30 per cent power.
Also, there were air conditioners with a unique features such as holiday mode, eco mode and drink cool mode, while some can be controlled using smartphones.
Sharp, meanwhile, brought in Butterfly refrigerators, which open from both sides, besides inverter technology ACs that claim to have the lowest power consumption of just
Rs 3 per hour.
