With the arrest of three persons for the murders of DSP Balraj Singh Gill and Monica Kapila, the two special investigation teams set up to crack the case has finally heaved a sigh of relief.

DCP Ashish Choudhary, who headed the two teams, said: “Getting to the murderers was not easy and this is why the case took so long to crack. It was a tough job. I will not say that we were under pressure, but yes,the stress was there. We were tracking calls made from the DSP’s and Monica cellphones. Only at times, the phones were switched on. So,the process was lengthy.”

Asked whether they families of the deceased have been briefed of the incident,Chaoudhary said: “I will call Monica Kapila’s family and brief them about the whole issue. We have already spoken to DSP Gill’s family and they are satisfied with our findings.”
