Nearly a week after DSP Moga Balraj Singh Gill and a woman,Monica Kapila, were found murdered at a farmhouse on the outskirts of the city, the district police are yet to crack the case. Though the murders had come to light last Friday, the police claimed that the two could have been killed late on Thursday evening.

Despite it being nearly a week and even after a huge manhunt, there is nothing new to say,” said DCP Ashish Chaudhry. CP Ishwar Chander Sharma,on the other hand, claimed that Normal policing has been hit because officers are engaged in cracking the double murder case.

With the police nowhere near cracking the murders, legal experts do not rule out the fact that the police could be “padding up” the case. “Tracing a blind murder is nearly next to impossible thing. This also being a blind murder,it will be very tough for the police to crack it. But then, the police will have to come up with a theory for it is one of their officers who has been killed,” said a senior criminal lawyer of the city.
