Dr Kaura murder case accused held for stealing 13 vehicles

The Anti Auto Theft Cell (AATS) of the Chandigarh Police today claimed to have recovered 13 vehicles of different make which had been stolen from various parts of the city.

The Anti Auto Theft Cell (AATS) of the Chandigarh Police today claimed to have recovered 13 vehicles of different make which had been stolen from various parts of the city.

According to the police,Jhajjar-resident Deepak Sharma and Sector-20 resident Vishal Vij,who are at present lodged in Patiala Jail as they have been accused of murdering Dr Deepak Kaura,were involved in stealing the vehicles from Chandigarh. At the time of their arrest,three vehicles which had been stolen from Chandigarh were recovered from them.

The AATS Cell brought the accused on production warrants from Patiala Jail on May 22.

During questioning,the accused confessed that the three Honda Activa scooters recovered from their possession by the Dera Bassi Police at the time of their arrest in the Kaura Murder case had been stolen by them from Chandigarh. On further questioning,police managed to recover nine more vehicles. The stolen vehicles include nine two wheelers and four cars.

In a separate case,Burail-resident Satish Kumar was arrested near Sector 33 after a motorcycle bearing a fake registration number was recovered from his possession. A case has been registered at the Sector-34 police station.
