Dhumal’s kin killed rescuing woman from husband

A 60-year-old woman,Dhruvan Devi,was killed in a bizarre incident on Monday night in Sangroh village of Hamirpur district when she was trying to rescue another woman from domestic violence.

A 60-year-old woman,Dhruvan Devi,was killed in a bizarre incident on Monday night in Sangroh village of Hamirpur district when she was trying to rescue another woman from domestic violence. Dhruvan Devi was the sister-in-law of Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal’s brother,Roop Singh Dhumal.

Hamirpur police said Baldev Singh of Sangroh village was beating his wife Rita Devi on Monday night. When his wife ran out of the house to save herself,Dhruvan Devi heard her cries and came out to help her. Baldev,who was drunk,allegedly pushed the old woman,who rolled down a few feet and hit her head against a rock. She died on the spot.

Police have arrested Baldev and registered an FIR under Section 302 of the IPC.
