Days after ‘killing’ wife,cop commits suicide

Punjab police employee,Gurvishal Singh,a resident of Dera Bassi,who murdered his wife Surinder Kaur on Tuesday evening,committed suicide by jumping before a train on Ambala-Kalka railway track in Dera Bassi late on Wednesday night.

Punjab police employee,Gurvishal Singh (48),a resident of Dera Bassi,who murdered his wife Surinder Kaur (42) on Tuesday evening,committed suicide by jumping before a train on Ambala-Kalka railway track in Dera Bassi late on Wednesday night.

According to the Lalru Railway police incharge Rampal,the driver of the engine informed them about the incident around 11:00 pm on Wednesday. The deceased was recognised by an identity card. The body of the deceased has been sent to Civil Hospital,Dera Bassi for postmortem and an inquest proceeding under section 174 of CrPC has been initiated.

Gurvishal killed his wife Surinder with a knife at their residence and was absconding. Family members alleged domestic violence as the cause for trouble. The deceased couple are survived by their two children Akashdeep (20) and Deepkhushi (10).

Gurvishal Singh was employed as a clerk at DGP Office,Chandigarh while his wife was employed as a music teacher at Sarvhitkari School,Dera Bassi.
