Dal Khalsa slams ‘VVIP treatment’ to jagir KAUR

Blaming the jail ministry for flouting norms,the party’s secretary for human rights Pritpal Singh said that only in India political bigwigs and the rich were considered above the law.

Accusing the state government of extending VVIP treatment to former cabinet cabinet minister Jagir Kaur,the Dal Khalsa on Sunday said the Punjab government was violating the constitutional promise of equality by extending VVIP treatment to Bibi Jagir Kaur in the Kapurthala jail. Blaming the jail ministry for flouting norms,the party’s secretary for human rights Pritpal Singh said that only in India political bigwigs and the rich were considered above the law. He urged the state governor to take suo motu notice of the violation of norms by jail authorities. Firing a salvo at Jagir Kaur for not “showing genuine remorse”,he said she must resign from the membership of the SGPC. “Her stubbornness to continue as a SGPC member will bring disgrace to the apex institution of Sikhs,” Pritpal Singh said.
