Dadumajra resident alleges police torture

A 29-year-old resident of Dadumajra village alleged that he was tortured by the police and kept in illegal detention and was forced to accept that he had committed a robbery.

A 29-YEAR-old resident of Dadumajra village alleged that he was tortured by the police and kept in illegal detention and was forced to accept that he had committed a robbery. Sikander Sharma (29),on Sunday,approached a local court in Sector 17,and the duty magistrate asked him to get his medical examination done at GMSH-16. The medical report will be submitted in the court on Monday.

In his petition,Sharma said that he had gone to pick up his children from school when the cops picked him up. He stated that he was brought to Sector 39 police station and was beaten by the cops and made to confess to a robbery which he had never committed. He also accused the cops of giving him electric shocks.

However,police officials from Sector 39 police station denied the allegations and said that Sharma had been involved in robberies cases in the past. He was arrested as a preventive measure and was released on Saturday.

Man alleges in-laws hid wife’s earlier marriage

Chandigarh: Ashish Sood,a resident of Sector 45,alleged that his wife Tamanna,father-in-law Sunil Puri and mother-in-law Kamlesh Puri,all reisdents of Sector 45 cheated him by concealing that Tammanna was already married to another person who was living in Australia. The police have registered a case of cheating and criminal conspiracy against the accused at the sector 17 police station.
