Court acquitts 3 of robbery bid

Three people accused of a robbery attempt at Industrial Area,Panchkula earlier this year were acquitted by a local court here on Friday.

Three people accused of a robbery attempt at Industrial Area,Panchkula earlier this year were acquitted by a local court here on Friday. The court of additional district and sessions judge,Gurvinder Kaur,acquitted Sarfaraz,Tahir and Chanderpal in a robbery attempt case. The three were earlier released on bail. Police had registered an FIR on April 1 after it claimed that they were trying to rob people in Industrial Area and police also disclosed that their bid to commit the robbery was foiled after it acted on a specific information. Police said after Crime Investigation Agency officials received a tip off about the bid,they laid a trap and arrested the trio. Prosecution had disclosed before the court that a police team was moving in a vehicle which was behind a bus and the trio tried to rob the bus driver,but the driver managed to flee. Police also disclosed that in order to foil the bid by the robbers to flee from the spot the lights of the vehicle in which they were traveling were turned off by them.
