After filing the challan against Ram Kumar Chaudhary, the special investigation team (SIT) constituted in the murder case is now hunting for a Hoshiarpur resident,Satpal, whom the MLA had blamed for having illicit relations with Jyoti Kumari. As per police sources, the case has taken a new turn as Satpal’s disclosures will be vital in the case.

Sources point out that even as the MLA earlier confessed to his role in the murder, the MLA had said that it was Satpal who was having illicit relations with Jyoti.

Sources said that circumstantial evidence points to the role of Ram Kumar Chaudhary in the murder as not only was his business card recovered from Jyoti’s bag in sector 21 in the city on November 22,but even the calls from the cell-phones taken on fake identities were tracked to the same area where the girl was found murdered.

Police sources add that even the handwriting samples of Ram Kumar Chaudhary have matched with the records of Jindal nursing home where the girl was taken by him to abort her baby adding however that they need to check the over-writing on the hospital documents and the whether Chaudhary also faked his identity while depositing the money in the account of the girl from Baddi or was depositing the money in her account through someone else.

Through his counsels,Chaudhary has however denied his relations with the girl and had even informed the court that he had visited the wedding of the elder sister of the deceased girl by only accompanying one of his friends and didn’t know her.
