Cops go over CCTV footage to identify man who entered Kaithal DC’s room

The Chandigarh Police,on Wednesday,checked the Close Circuit Television footage installed at the UT Guest House to gather any possible clues into the incident where a man had entered the room of Amona Shri Niwasan,Deputy Commissioner on Tuesday morning.

The Chandigarh Police,on Wednesday,checked the Close Circuit Television (CCTV) footage installed at the UT Guest House to gather any possible clues into the incident where a man had entered the room of Amona Shri Niwasan,Deputy Commissioner (Kaithal) on Tuesday morning.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kamaldeep and Poonam Dilawari,SHO of Sector 3 police station visited the guest house again to investigate the incident.

CCTV footage shows a person in the corridor at around 3.09 am,but the footage quality is reported to be of low quality and the dark lighting has further made it difficult to establish the identity of the person.

The guest house had 12 employees on duty on the day the incident took place.

Police have questioned all the employees and have also proceeded to take the duty register into their possession.

Some of the guests were also questioned,who were present on the day of the incident.

The incident had taken place in the wee hours of Monday morning when the Deputy Commissioner saw a person entering her room,situated on the first floor of the guest house.

The Deputy Commissioner had come to the city to attend a marriage function and had returned to her room at around 11.30 pm on Monday.

At around 3 am,on Tuesday,she informed the authorities that she had seen a person entering her room through the balcony and then leaving the room.

The Deputy Commissioner did not give a complaint to the police at the time of the incident,but submitted a complaint to the Home Secretary at around 12 pm after which a case was registered.

Police have registered a case of trespassing at the Sector 3 police station.
