Congress councillors expressed their resentment against the Mayor on Friday, alleging that she sidelined the councillors of the party and instead took with her a BJP councillor and a nominated councillor for a conference on solid waste management at Nagpur.

The Congress councillors alleged that the Mayor should have either taken along a member of the sanitation committee or consulted the councillors of the party before going for the conference.

Congress councillor Subhash Chawla said that the Congress should have been taken along. He added that though the Mayor is saying that all parties were represented at the conference,it was a feeling among the Congress councillors that they could have been consulted.

Similar views were expressed by another councillor who said that what happened was not right. He said that the members of the Congress were not even asked and the Mayor chose to take a BJP councillor and a nominated one .

The councillors feel that at least a member of the sanitation committee should have been a part of the conference. Neither BJP councillor Davesh Moudgil nor nominated councillor Surinder Bahga are members of the committee.

The Mayor had earlier earned the wrath of her own party when, while addressing a conference to commemorate 100 days in office, she invited no other councillor of her party or any other. Even the senior deputy mayor and deputy mayor were not invited.
