Cong leader to EC: False case lodged against my kin

Accusing Youth Akali Dal president Bikram Majithia of lodging a false case against his family members,Congress leader S R S Lalli Majithia of Majithia constituency has filed a complaint with the Chief Election Commissioner of India and Punjab Election Officer.

Accusing Youth Akali Dal (YAD) president Bikram Majithia of lodging a false case against his family members,Congress leader S R S Lalli Majithia of Majithia constituency has filed a complaint with the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India and Punjab Election Officer.

Bikram Majithia,the sitting MLA of SAD from Majithia,had lodged the case against Lalli’s brother Jagwinder Singh Jagga,nephew Akashdeep Singh Gill,cousins and other Congress supporters under various sections of the IPC. Bikram alleged the Congress supporters had resorted to violence at Pandori Waraich village of Majithia constituency on Wednesday evening.

Lalli Majithia,who is chairman of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) Intellectual Cell,alleged the police officers were working at the behest of Bikram,who is brother-in-law of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal.

“I also want to bring it to your notice that Majithia has been declared a sensitive constituency in the Punjab region and request you to look into the matter and transfer these police officers,” said Lalli in the complaint,adding that at the time of the scuffle only general workers of the Congress were present and they had no weapon and no gunshot was fired.
