With the DAV management revoking his suspension from the post of principal of DAV College,Sector 10,B C Josan is all set to join back within the next few days.
Sources say that Josan will receive the formal orders on Wednesday and he will join within a week. The management gave him a clean chit after finding that the majority of 15 charges framed against him were false.
The management, however, has decided to withhold his increment in the coming year, citing administrative lapses in his term. He has been given a clean chit in cases of financial irregularities alleged against him.
The college is currently headed by Ashok Nanda, head of the Economics Department at the college, who took over as principal in December last year.
Prior to him,Pawan Jain had been officiating as principal. He retired on November 30 last year.
Jain was appointed as the officiating principal on September 29 after Shashi Gupta went on medical leave till his retirement. Gupta had succeeded Josan in June last year following the latters suspension as principal.
Josan had been accused of rampant academic and financial lapses in the college, following which the DAV management had decided to suspend him. However, his suspension was earlier revoked by the then PU registrar S S Bari.
It was later nullified by Vice-Chancellor R C Sobti. After challenging the nullification in the Punjab and Haryana High Court,Josan was allowed to continue as the administrative principal while the financial powers were withdrawn from him by the management.
In November, following the directions of the court, the registrar asked the DAV management to conduct a fresh inquiry into the case. The inquiry has finally given him a clean chit.
