100 donate blood in Panchkula

Panchkula: Nearly 100 people donated blood here on Sunday at a blood camp that was organised by Lions Club,Zirakpur Shakti. Commissioner,Panchkula-Ambala range,Rajbir Deswal,motivated the youth to donate blood.

Deswal said that it should be the duty of citizens to take part in such noble initiatives like the donation of blood.

Bansal inaugurates smart school

Chandigarh: Union Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal inaugurated a smart school in Sector 50. As many as 900 students who were studying in Government Senior Secondary School,Sector 45 have been shifted here. The school is built on an area of 4.23 acres and comprises of 27 classrooms,library hall and labs.

‘Obesity needs to be checked in Punjab’

Chandigarh: Annual Dietetics Meet-2013 was organised by the Department of Dietetics at Max Super Speciality Hospital,on Sunday. It was inaugurated by former MP and senior BJP leader Satya Pal Jain. Experts said obesity needed to checked in Punjab,but dieting was not a healthy way out.

Ayurvedic body to meet at PU today

Chandigarh: The meeting of the governing council of the All India Ayurvedic Congress at Panjab University will be held on Monday. Ayurvedic bodies in New Delhi discussed the need for at least 25 percent of total budget allocation for medical service and ayurveda education.
