Man held for truck theft

CHANDIGARH: Police arrested a person on Sunday for allegedly stealing a truck. Joginder Pal,a truck driver,complaint that an unknown person stole his truck from Daria village on Saturday. The police within a period of 24 hours,caught the accused Guddu,a resident of Mani Majra,at a barricade created at about 4.30 pm.

Police arrest one for assault

CHANDIGARH: Chandigarh Police arrested a man on charges of theft and assault on Sunday. Acting on a complaint by a resident of Mauli village about mobile phone and Adhar card theft from near Laxmi Narain Mandir in Mauli Complex,the police arrested Munish. The accused also allegedly beat the victim. He was then arrested from the market in Mauli Complex within an hour at around 8 pm,claims police.

Plantation drive organised at PU

CHANDIGARH: As part of the ongoing plantation drive,around 100 plants of various varieties were planted near the Girls Hostel No 8,south campus,PU on Monday. Dignitaries from the various departments were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion,Engineer Anil Thakur,Divisional Engineer (Horticulture) expressed happiness over the enthusiasm shown by the participants.
