Seven documentaries,three fiction films,two animated films and one feature film were screened on the second day of the three-day film festival,Cine Manthan,2013,being organised by Panjab University (PU) in collaboration with the Film Division of India (FDI),Mumbai.
The three-day film festival is slated to conclude on Saturday with the screening of the much-talked about feature film Ship of Theseus at 11 am.
The movie raises various questions about the meaning of identity,justice,beauty and death through the stories of an experimental photographer,an ailing monk and an enterprising stockbroker.
The second day of the Film Festival started with a 16-minute fiction film,Music in the Blood,a film from Romania about a fathers expectations from his son.
Also,the feature film,Mirch Masala,created quite a buzz among the audience consisting of students and faculty.
FDI Director General V S Kundu delivered a talk on the second day on the nature and working of FDI.
He enumerated the mandate of FDI,its history and also showed rare and historical newsreels.
Along with the film festival,cine lovers also enjoyed the film expo on 100 years of Cinema at the Fine Arts Museum.
