CII reaches out to underprivileged kids,opens learning centre

In an attempt to enhance education and overall development of underprivileged children in the city,the tricity chapter of the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII’s) Young Indians (Yi),today launched ‘ViVidha’- a learning-cum-activity centre at Kaimbwala village near Sukhna Lake on Sunday.

In an attempt to enhance education and overall development of underprivileged children in the city,the tricity chapter of the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII’s) Young Indians (Yi),today launched ‘ViVidha’- a learning-cum-activity centre at Kaimbwala village near Sukhna Lake on Sunday.

ViVidha was inaugurated by Sameer Jain,Immediate Past,Chair,Yi Chandigarh Tricity Chapter along with a child belonging to an underprivileged background.

Around 150 children from the village came for the opening ceremony and participated in various activities including a painting competition that was organised for them.

Yi ViVidha is a place where the underprivileged children in the age group of 3-15 years will be provided free access to huge section of books,games and other learning aids.

Addressing the gathering,Dr Parul Pandey,Chair,Yi Chandigarh Tricity Chapter said,“Through ViVidha,we aim to inculcate the habit of reading and add some fun in the lives of ‘not so privileged’ children.
