Chandigarh: One killed another injured after truck hits bike

The driver of the truck rushed Vikram to the Chandimandir Military Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

One person died while another suffered grievous injuries after their two-wheeler was hit by an Army truck, near Chandimandir Military Station on the Old-Panchkula-Chandigarh road, here on Wednesday.

Residents of Ramgarh, the bike was driven by Vikram(25) while his friend Umesh(21) was riding pillion and they were on their way to Manimajra.

The accident took place around 11:30 am, a few metres ahead of the Tank Chowk, when the bike took a turn towards Panchkula Sector 6 market an Army truck coming from behind hit it.

The driver of the truck rushed Vikram to the Chandimandir Military Hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Umesh was rushed to General Hospital, Sector 6, from where he was referred to PGI, Chandigarh. His condition is said to be stable.
