Punjab: Court sends two behind bars for robbing two security guards

Kuldeep was robbed at 11 pm on January 16/17 2014, while Munshi was robbed at 11:30 pm on the same day.

A local court on Saturday sentenced accused Upinder and Bijinder Pal to three-and-a-half years imprisonment for robbing two security guards. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on them. The third accused in the case Rajesh was declared a proclaimed offender.

The complainants – Kuldeep Singh and Munshi Lal – were passing by the IT Park when the accused robbed them on the intervening night of January 16/17 in 2014. The victims, Kuldeep Singh was working as a security guard in Government Medical College and Hospial, Sector 32 while Munshi Lal was working in a private firm. Kuldeep in his FIR stated that on the night of the incident while going to his office, when he reached the Shastri Nagar light point near fish market on his bicycle, three boys stopped him suddenly.

They attacked him with sword and took away Rs 500 from his pocket. Later, they also robbed Munshi. Two separate complaints were registered in the case. Kuldeep was robbed at 11 pm while Munshi was robbed at 11:30 pm on the same day.
