Circle Kabaddi to vie for slot in 2016 Brazil Olympics
Chandigarh: Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Sunday said the successful organisation of the first Asian Circle Style Kabaddi at Tabriz (Iran) has strengthened the sports claim for inclusion in 2016 Rio De Janeiro (Brazil) Olympics. Badal said Punjab is set to host the second World Kabaddi Cup from November 1-20,in which 14 international teams and four international womens teams will take part.
Punjab announces 50 pc agri subsidy
Chandigarh: The Punjab government on Sunday announced 50 per cent subsidy on vegetable farming to boost vegetable production in the state. Agriculture Minister Sucha Singh Langah said the government will provide a one-time grant of Rs 50,000 for a net house covering 500 sq m to poor and medium farmers.
Process for disability certificate simplified
Chandigarh: The Punjab government on Sunday simplified and decentralised the process for issuing disabilities certificate. According to the new guidelines,the certificate can now be issued by a single specialised doctor.
