After The hue and cry over alleged discrepancies in the elections to the organisational post in the city’s BJP unit, unit party chief Sanjay Tandon got a clean chit from the three member committee here on Thursday.

“Proper procedure for the elections was followed. The charges by leader Harmohan Dhawan said that nobody from party was consulted. Here we say- The Chief may consult with the Sanghatan Mantri or the Pradesh Prabhari. He doesn’t require to consult every person or former presidents,” said Raghubir Arora, In-charge of the committee.

“We called the complainant and explained everything to him. If there were discrepancies in the elections of a mandal or a samiti, that had to be reported within three days. Why did they raise a hue and cry now? It has been verified. There were no discrepancies in the elections,” he added.

Dhawan had complained to the party’s all India national election in-charge Avinash Rai Khanna and BJP National President Amit Shah about discrepancies in the elections and that Tandon did not consult anybody. The three member committee comprising Raghubir Arora, BK Sood and Ram Devi Bhatti was constituted to probe the matter.

Regarding the audio clips of BJP General secretary-cum-election incharge Prem Kaushik that went viral, Arora said, “The complaint was very limited. I was just shown the newspapers about the audio going viral. Who knows how much has been deleted?”

On this, senior leader Harmohan Dhawan said, “Their own election in-charge is speaking everything clearly (in the audio clip). We will go to the national level committee.”

In the audio, which purportedly was the telephonic conversations between election in-charge Prem Kaushik and former BJP Cell convener Dalip Sharma a voice, said to be Kaushik’s, is heard saying how elections were held ‘wrongly’.
