BJP sources said the chairman of Punjab SC/ST Commission Rajesh Baggha and Kimti Bhagat, the chairman of Punjab Gau Sewa Commission, were being considered for the Phagwara and Jalandhar West (both reserved) seats. BJP’s Som Parkash is the sitting MLA from Phagwara while Jalandhar West seat is currently held by Bhagat Chuni Lal, Punjab’s forest minister.
