Auction of fancy numbers: RLA nets Rs 12.5 lakh on 2nd day

Earns Rs 60 lakh in two days by selling 216 numbers; unsold numbers to be auctioned later

The Registration and Licensing Authority (RLA ) earned Rs 12.5 lakh on the second day of the auction of fancy vehicle registration numbers of ‘CH01-AV’ series on Sunday,selling 133 numbers.

With this,the total amount collected during the two days reached Rs 60 lakh,as RLA had earned Rs 47.05 lakh by auctioning 83 registration numbers of the same series on Saturday.

The number which fetched the maximum price to RLA on the second day was CH01-AV-1111. With a reserve price of Rs 10,000,it fetched Rs 56,000. It was bought by Curo India P Ltd,Sector 9.

Another number,9999,which had a reserve price of Rs 10,000,brought RLA Rs 49,000. It was purchased by X-9 Steel Corporation,Sector 15.

The other number which bagged a good amount was 0786 which was sold at Rs 37,000. It was bought by Aman Gupta,a Sector 49 resident.

This is the fist time RLA has held an open auction for the sale of fancy numbers. “The auction was better than last time. The response from public was very good,especially for open house. This was the first open house,and looking at its success,we are planning to conduct more open-house auctions in the near future,” an RLA official told Newsline.

In all,there were 216 numbers for sale during the two-day RLA auction. On Saturday,the number CH01-AV-0001 fetched the highest amount of Rs 7,01,000 and the second highest number bid was CH01-AV-0007 for Rs 2,60,000.

Some of the numbers which could not be sold such as 0083,0084,0085,0087,0092,0093,0094 and 0096 will be auctioned later.
