Ashish’s brace sets up St Xavier’s triumph

Buoyed by a brace by Ashish,St Xavier's School scored a 2-0 win over St Kabir School,Sector 26,in the boys’ U-14 age category in the UT Inter-School Football Championship.

Buoyed by a brace by Ashish,St Xavier’s School scored a 2-0

win over St Kabir School,Sector 26,in the boys’ U-14 age category in the UT Inter-School Football Championship being

organised by Chandigarh Education Department,at Sector 42

Sports Complex on Tuesday. Ashish scored the opening

goal in the tenth minute of the match before adding his second goal of the match in the 32nd minute.

In another match,Government Model High School,Sector

38,registered a narrow 5-4 win via tie-breaker over St Joseph’s School,Sector 44. For the winning

team,Akshay scored a brace while Pala Ram,Aniket

and Dikshit netted one goal each. For the losing team,Ankit,

Harsh Thakur,Ankit Arya and Prikshit were the scorers.

Later in the day,DAV Senior Secondary School,Sector 8,

blanked Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 40 by 2-0. For the winning team,

Sahil and Dhanraj scored one goal each.

In the last match of the U-14 category,Government Model

Senior Secondary School,Sector 22,trounced Government Senior Secondary School,Manimajra 4-0. Sagar scored the account for the GMSSS-22 teamin the tenth

minute of the match. Akash doubled the lead in the 15th minute.

Jai Prakash scored the third goal while Vikas netted the fourth

goal for the winning team. In the U-17 boys’ matches held

at GMSSS-22,Government Model High School,Sector 42,

beat Government Model High School,Sector 36,by 1-0.

Pradeep Kumar scored the solitary goal for the winning team in

the 38th minute. In another match,Government Model Senior

Secondary School,Sector 35,beat Government Model Senior

Secondary School,Sector 10,by 2-1 in tie-breaker. Aman

Tirkey and Kshitz Mehta scored the goals for the winning team.

In another match in the same category,SGGS Khalsa School,

Sector 35 drubbed GMSSS-37 by a 4-0 margin while Delhi Public School,Sector 40 registered a

4-0 win over GMHS-41.
