As many as 117 students have been recruited in the campus placement drive,AVSAR 2012,organised by the Panjab University’s Central Placement Cell & Panjab University Student Council last month.

As many as 117 students have been recruited in the campus placement drive,AVSAR 2012,organised by the Panjab University’s Central Placement Cell & Panjab University Student Council last month.

A total 40 companies participated in the drive. More than 800 students from various academic clusters appeared for interviews,of which 471 were shortlisted and 117 got recruited. The final rounds of interviews are still going on.

Beautification drive for PU student centre

CHANDIGARH: Panjab University’s Dean Student Welfare A S Ahluwalia inaugurated a beautification drive at the student centre on Wednesday. Under the drive,an initiative of Panjab University Campus Student Council (PUCSC),the area adjoining the AC Joshi library will be utilised for seating space. Ahluwalia said a sum of Rs 8 lakh had been set aside for installing new sheds and benches at the university. A guide map for locations inside the university will also be installed at the student centre.

Hansraj School orientation for primary wing

CHANDIGARH: Hansraj Public School,Sector 6,Panchkula,held its orientation programme for the primary wing on Wednesday. Principal Jaya Bhardwaj assured the parents that the children would be under the care and guidance of a great team of professionals.

2 Ryan students excel in Maths Olympiad

CHANDIGARH: Two students of Ryan International School,Sector 49,brought laurels to the school,bagging first and second positions at the fifth International Mathematics Olympiad. Arsh Mahajan from Class VII bagged the first position while Hardik Verma from Class X bagged the second position.

Narial new chairman of Housing Board body

CHANDIGARH: Pawan Kumar Narial was elected chairman of the Chandigarh Housing Board Sectional Officers’ Association held on Wednesday. Among others elected were Abnesh Dhadwal as president,Mohit Handa as senior vice-president,Pawan Sharma as vice-president and Rajesh Nautiyal as general secretary.
